Board extends executive session twice before resuming open meeting

After moving into a closed executive session, the Kansas Board of Regents approved a 30-minute extension and then an additional 20-minute extension before returning to open session and taking action on CEO compensation.
Once the Kansas Board of Regents moved into a closed executive session July 30, the board approved a motion to extend the session by 30 minutes. The presiding officer asked for a motion, the motion received a second and was approved by voice vote.
Shortly afterward, a committee member moved to further extend the session by 20 minutes so it would conclude at 2:00 p.m.; that extension was likewise seconded and approved by voice vote. The board then returned to open session and proceeded to consider and approve CEO compensation.
