Deputy Judge Buchanan, reporting for absent Animal Services Director Danielle Ashcraft, told the Fiscal Court that the shelter recorded seven adoptions generating $1,500, $1,726 in donations and $545.24 in other receipts, totaling $3,771.24 for the reporting period. The shelter currently holds 26 dogs after recent intakes and releases (31 in, 32 out) including six adoptions, 19 rescues and six returned to owners.
Judge Bates said he had received multiple complaints from a Stonehurst resident about dogs roaming in the neighborhood. County Attorney Kassidy Dees advised that Animal Control has the authority to file a criminal complaint to hold owners responsible for violations of county ordinances if the animals cannot be caught and the ordinance has been violated.
