Economic development group asks Henry County to nearly double annual support to $15,000

Jessica Moore, representing the Kentucky Innovation & Economic Development Alliance (KIEDA), briefed the Fiscal Court on May 18 about regional business recruitment efforts along the I‑71 corridor and requested the county consider increasing its annual funding from $8,000 to $15,000 to support that work. Moore cited recent relationship building with brokers, investors and developers and said KIEDA helped locate a new business recently approved by Planning & Zoning that will have a significant impact on the county.
Judge Scott Bates praised Moore’s efforts in bringing real estate and brokerage partners to county leadership and said she had “gone above and beyond” to assist in landing economic development opportunities, including a Campbellsburg project. Magistrate Roger Hartlage said KIEDA has delivered results and urged the court to seriously consider the increase; Judge Bates noted he declined to pay Greater Louisville, Inc. this year and framed KIEDA as providing targeted marketing, grant support and networking.
