Council urges faster outreach to Latino and immigrant communities after trash rollout

Director Crooms said the department has not yet let an outreach contract for fiscal year 2025 and that prior outreach funding had returned to the department after a contract under the executive's office ended. "We have not begun, fiscal year 2025, outreach yet," Crooms said, and added that ideas sent by members are being incorporated into the statement of work the agency is drafting. Fisher offered the council's help at community events and urged the department to deploy targeted bilingual materials and presence at high‑attendance gatherings.
