The Albany Area Schools board unanimously adopted a resolution accepting a large package of gifts and donations to support scholarships, athletics and extracurricular programs. The list included an anonymous donation of $12,199.40 for drama; $5,000 from Albany Chrysler Center for scholarship; and multiple Albany Jaycees gifts for athletics and community-education programs.
Member Ronning introduced the resolution accepting donations and Member Henkelman seconded; the board recorded that all present voted in favor. The donations cover a mix of student activities (robotics, wrestling warm-ups, gymnastics, softball), transportation support for coaches, and community-education offerings such as archery and summer recreation. Specific items recorded by the board included a $1,770 award from the Minnesota State High School League for athletics and $5,000 and $2,000 gifts earmarked for scholarships and program support by the Albany Jaycees.
