State requires allowing new manufactured homes on open lots in nonconforming parks

Staff described a state law change that alters the county's treatment of nonconforming manufactured-home parks.
"This bill specifically applies to manufactured homes that are non conforming, and requires that manufactured homes be permitted on any open lot in a conforming or non conforming manufactured home park," Gastro said. Under the previous standard, the county would not allow placement of a new manufactured home on a lot that had been open; the new law requires the county to permit such placements regardless of prior occupancy.
Staff will add language to the draft ordinance clarifying that new manufactured homes may be placed on open lots in manufactured-home parks, consistent with the state requirement.
