District highlights coaches and hall of fame; board accepts three resignations

Superintendent Gail Hughey presented the Superintendent’s report, noting several recognitions: OHHS Football Head Coach Chad Miller was named Division 5 Coach of the Year; the WBRC Athletic Hall of Fame display is now outside the OHHS gym and is accepting nominations; and a 50-year wrestling recognition was organized by Dom Goulette.
Hughey also acknowledged three resignations: Gavin Miller, Social Studies Teacher and Weight Room Coach at Ogemaw Heights High School, effective Jan. 16, 2026; Elizabeth Moore, 2nd Grade Teacher at Surline Elementary School, effective Jan. 27, 2026; and Brendon Zaske, JV Boys Soccer Coach at Ogemaw Heights High School, effective Jan. 4, 2026. The Superintendent reported district enrollment at 1,807 and reminded the board that the next Count Day is Feb. 11, 2026.
