Board approves multiple staff hires, including coaching and special-education roles

Separately, the board approved Kathryn Elliott as assistant varsity girls basketball coach at Ogemaw Heights High School (effective Nov. 19, 2025, paid through EduStaff at 5%, Step 4); Eric Queener as assistant wrestling coach at Ogemaw Heights High School (effective Nov. 17, 2025, paid through EduStaff at 6%, Step 7); Julie Mader as a 3rd-grade teacher at Surline Elementary (effective Dec. 15, 2025, BA+45/MA, Step 25+); and Lauren Torsch as a special education paraprofessional at Surline Elementary (effective Nov. 17, 2025, $14.21 per hour).
The minutes record that Alan Withers moved to approve the listed hires and Scott Kartes seconded; the motion carried unanimously, 7-0. The hires and their effective dates and pay rates are recorded in the board packet and minutes.
