Board hears plans for Manufacturing Month, Tech Prep changes and nursing initiatives at LCCC

Lorain County Community College reported it has applied to deliver an Applied Bachelor of Science in Nursing with an estimated total cost around $15,000 for four years and hopes to start in Fall 2026. LCCC also described developing a nursing academy with the Cleveland Clinic to address an estimated shortage of 200 nurses and noted an expansion of 21 AI‑related certificates. Members additionally heard about a Jobs Ohio incentive: a $15,000 tax credit for companies hiring STEM employees relocating from out of state.
