Commissioners approve multiple procurement actions: recycling contracts, Barton pad sites, asphalt, fuel and a small equipment service contract

At the meeting commissioners approved several contract awards across departments. Marissa (economic development staff) reported that Carl Belt was the low bidder to perform site work for three pad sites at Barton Business Park at a cost of $430,751 and that those funds will come from the rural Maryland economic development fund. "They will do the site work to create 3 pad sites in the amount of $430,751," Marissa said.
Public works and roads staff also presented procurement results: Russell Standard won the emulsified-asphalt bid, Bedford Valley Petroleum was low on diesel and gas, and Allegheny Aggregates was low on chip-seal materials at $529,695. Separately, Roger Bennett asked the board to approve a Stryker ProCare maintenance contract for life-support and patient-transport equipment at a cost of $10,670.90; commissioners approved all items on voice votes. Attorney Beeman also asked the board to ratify a previously authorized real-estate contract transferring 1.49 acres to Penmar Recycling for $50,000; the ratification passed and staff said closing is scheduled next week with construction activity expected July 6.
