Officials weigh cloud camera option vs on-premises NVR and door-access upgrades

"The best one is to go with cloud version of the software and, be just short of $23,000 for the cameras, the installation, and the 1st year of a cloud subscription," the presenter said. He contrasted that with an on-premises NVR option he estimated near $35,000 for recorder, installation and storage.
Officials also discussed replacing older combination locks in the courthouse with swipe-access hardware and adding video intercoms. Participants noted vendor quotes varied depending on scope (courthouse only or courthouse plus Justice Center). Staff said Enertell may be able to add controllers to an existing system while other vendors proposed a full replacement; the group agreed to verify exact door counts and reconcile overlapping quotes before committing funds.
