During public comment at the March 9 meeting, community member Phillip Foust raised concerns about bathroom-related incidents and said he had referenced contacting the Department of Justice to initiate an investigation of the district. Ilene Schueller said three Michigan districts are currently under investigation and expressed worries about gender identity policies, communication to families, and facility use.
Kathy George later asked the board about how to find Sex Education Advisory Board membership and upcoming meeting information on the district website. Board members and staff acknowledged the public’s concerns and several trustees requested that advisory-board information be made easier to find online.
