During public comment, Carrie Ramirez representing Friends of East Olive asked the board to prevent further deterioration of the building and expressed interest in future uses that preserve community value. The motion was supported by Treasurer Nelson and carried without opposition.
The board’s authorization allows district staff to gather offers; any sale will be returned to the board for a final decision. Board members and community groups signaled continued interest in coordinating on potential reuse and ensuring any offers meet district and community objectives.
