Rector Ron White moved the Executive Committee into closed session "pursuant to Virginia Code Section 2.2-3711(a)(1)" to conduct the annual evaluation of President W. Taylor Reveley IV; Secretary David Rose seconded the motion and the minutes say all present voted aye. After returning to open session, Rector White moved that members certify by roll call that only matters lawfully exempted from open meeting requirements were discussed and that only matters identified in the motion for the closed session were discussed; Vice Rector Jeff Nottingham seconded and the nine named Board members voted to certify.
The Executive Committee commended President Reveley and voted unanimously to add that review and commendation to the upcoming consent agenda of the full Board. The minutes record the motion, second, vote, and roll-call certification by name: Ron White, Jeff Nottingham, David Rose, Kathleen Early, Ian Bradley, Charles Fagan, Jackie McCaleb, Kathryn Roberts and Brian Schmalzbach. The meeting adjourned at 12:15 p.m.
