President W. Taylor Reveley IV updated the Longwood University Board of Visitors Executive Committee on June 5 about the Virginia budget negotiations and what they could mean for the university. He told the committee that Longwood's enrollment is stable compared with declines at many other institutions statewide and nationally and described potential implications of the pending state budget for campus programs and operations.
Reveley also reviewed operational priorities: capital projects underway, work by the Enrollment Opportunities Committee and the possible role of athletics in supporting enrollment efforts. The president reported that University Advancement has raised more than $29 million this year, a fundraising high point, and said the proposed FY27 tuition, adjusted for inflation, would be almost 6 percent lower than at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.
