Superintendent outlines layoff/recall resolutions; superintendent and board evaluations scheduled in closed session

During the March 11 briefing, Superintendent Dr. R. Roberts reviewed the Human Resources and Labor Relations report and told the board that the district will place standard layoff and recall resolutions on the March 18 Action consent agenda. The resolutions would authorize the superintendent to implement layoffs effective at the close of business on June 30, 2026 and allow for recall as needed.
Dr. Roberts also reminded the board that the Superintendent Self-Evaluation is scheduled April 8, 2026 at 5:30 p.m. and the Board Members' Evaluation of the Superintendent is scheduled May 20, 2026 at 5:30 p.m.; both evaluations are listed to take place in closed session. Vice President J. Nash expressed sadness at the passing of Dr. Wilson Smith during the human resources remarks.
