Superintendent Jamie Kraatz delivered the facilities update during the April 13 Committee-of-the-Whole meeting. Kraatz said the district’s portables would have a final walk-through the following day after extended state approvals; she emphasized the delay was due to state timing rather than district action.
Kraatz also reported that lightning struck Hemmeter Elementary over spring break, taking out an old fire alarm panel that the district is replacing with a modern system. She added that a roof leak at Hemmeter was found to be isolated and will require less replacement than first estimated. Kraatz said the district has received around 15 resumes for the Buildings and Grounds Director position.
