Dix Street Principal Sarah Taylor presented a school update to the Otsego Public Schools board during the Nov. 10 meeting, sharing a presentation and a short video in the cafeteria that highlighted culture and climate initiatives, academic work and student favorites. The recognition portion of the meeting named Dix Street staff and students and provided the board an opportunity to hear specifics about school-level work.
Board members used the recognition time to acknowledge recent athletic successes. Board President Amy Stender noted the swim team set "a new swim record" and thanked Swim Coach Daryl Belton. Treasurer Todd Bentley praised the cross-country teams and singled out coaches Steve Long and Dave Goodrich for their work with student-athletes. Vice President Shelly Jirgens also referenced a recent Ford NGL and Centerline visit as a positive opportunity for students.
