Board accepts teacher retirement and defers leave requests to Oct. 6

The Williamston Board accepted the retirement of Danielle Foss, a third-grade teacher, at its Sept. 15 meeting and expressed appreciation for her 24 years with the district.
Separately, the Board reviewed leave requests for Madyson Lawrence and Vijayalakshmi Sadheeshkumar. Mrs. Deal presented the supporting memos and Dr. Adam Spina answered clarifying questions. Both leave requests were moved to the Oct. 6 meeting for action.
Board members also discussed superintendent evaluation scheduling and opted to handle the evaluation in open session at a future meeting; that discussion was likewise moved to the Oct. 6 agenda.
