Jackson said the grant funding will support a college/career hub, college tours including historically Black colleges and universities, parent and student incentives, workshops and staff training and certification. She said the Board must adopt a policy requiring students to complete the FAFSA or sign a waiver as a condition for graduation; the discussion noted concerns about student privacy, how the requirement affects students not pursuing postsecondary education and the sustainability of a one-time grant spread over three years.
