The Williamston Board of Education approved multiple personnel actions at its Oct. 6 meeting, including leave requests and the superintendent’s evaluation.
On separate motions the board approved leave for Madyson Lawrence (motion by Sarah Belanger, second by Heather Gorsline) and for Vijayalakshmi Sadheeshkumar (motion by Deborah Wolf, second by Heather Gorsline); both motions passed 5–0. Earlier in the meeting Dr. Spina had overviewed additional leave requests for staff members Sarah McGill and Michele Ellis and recommended moving those items to the Oct. 20 ACTION agenda for formal consideration.
The board also completed a formal evaluation of Superintendent Dr. Adam Spina and assigned a rating of "Effective" on a motion by Deborah Wolf with a second from Sarah Belanger; the minutes note that Mrs. Wolf wished there were a rating higher than 'Effective.' The record does not include the evaluation rubric or supporting evidence discussed prior to the vote, nor does it list any follow-up goals tied to the evaluation in the minutes.
