Forest Hills honors student athletes and two departing board members at December meeting
Summary
The board recognized Forest Hills Central and Northern tennis state champions, honored board members Kristen Covell and Mary Bonk for their service, and allowed a brief recess for attendees to greet the departing members.
Early in the meeting the board recognized multiple student athletes for state and regional championships at Forest Hills Central and Forest Hills Northern. Principal John Hagel praised players and coaches, and Principal Heather McKinney highlighted team academic achievements, including a weighted team GPA of 3.97 and individual senior honors for several players.
The board also honored two departing members, Kristen Covell and Mary Bonk. Members and community speakers reflected on Covell's contributions to curriculum work and professional learning and praised Mary Bonk for more than 20 years of volunteer service to the district and community programs such as Project Charlie. The board took a short recess so attendees could greet the departing members.
