MHMR outlines heavy demand and a tight budget as county funding supports local programs

He said the agency receives local in‑kind support from Tom Green County (listed in the presentation at $303,314) and contracts for a range of services. On jail services, he said MHMR currently provides psychiatric services at the Tom Green County Jail at a budgeted level of $30,000 and operates continuity‑of‑care programs and jail navigators to connect people to services. He described the Crossroads Diversion Center and other crisis supports (respite, rapid rehousing) as programs still ramping up after recent expansion. The presentation included a request that commissioners consider continuing or increasing local support in light of growing demand and rising personnel and insurance costs.
