Selectboard eyes guardrails on Kibling after culvert work, estimates ~$30,000

Rodney Hoyt reported that the culvert on Kibling Road is installed and that the town has an opportunity to use grant funding to install safety guardrails at a nearby drop-off. "The culvert on Kibling is in, and we have a chance to install guardrails as part of the grant," he said.
Rodney told the board that installing guardrails could be expensive: "Putting guardrails in could cost ~$30,000." The Selectboard agreed to pursue the grant option and asked Hoyt to obtain names of three contractors for bids. Hoyt also updated the board on Better Back Roads work—hydroseeding remains to be completed on Whitney Hill, Dickerman Hill and Hanson Road—and said that if grant funds remain he will apply them to graveling needs.
