Alexandria School Board certifies election returns; capital projects levy failed

At its Nov. 10, 2025 special meeting, the Alexandria School Board adopted a resolution canvassing the returns of the Nov. 4 special election on a proposed Capital Projects Levy. The Abstract and Return attached to the resolution recorded 6,433 voters in the district: 3,038 voting in favor and 3,391 voting against the levy; the resolution declares the proposition failed.
The board approved the canvass resolution by a recorded 6-0 vote (motion to adopt moved by Shawn Reilly and seconded by Tracy Capistrant). The resolution directs the school district clerk to certify the election results to the county auditor(s) for each county in which the district lies. Earlier on the agenda, the board approved the Nov. 10 agenda by a 6-0 vote (motion by Maureen Eigen, second by Shawn Reilly).
