Staff to circulate draft bill; work group targets Aug. 16 for a final draft and a vote at next meeting

Paris said Ms. Canning will take the lead drafting the bill language and will provide a draft to Paris on Friday; Paris will edit and hopes to have a final draft to the work group by Aug. 16. "She's gonna have a draft to me on Friday. I'm going to edit it over the next couple of days, and then we hope to have a final draft to the work group to draft bill by I think it's next Friday, which is the 16th," Paris said.
Paris said much of the work can proceed via email because of the short time frame, and the work group will aim to take a vote on the proposed changes at the next meeting. Members discussed possible dates for the next meeting while planning to circulate materials ahead of time.
