Council hears updates on ambulance availability, EMS billing and fire department staffing

At the Oct. 9 meeting Mr. McClung reported that the ambulance is on track to be available in early November and that the municipality is finalizing its EMS billing system. The minutes say the council was informed the EMS billing work is in its final stages but do not provide a launch date.
Council members also discussed the need for a more permanent housing solution for the Fire Department and ideas to improve staffing and retention. Separately, Mr. Romas raised concerns about the potential effects of a federal government shutdown on local food banks and urged the council to ensure community support systems can meet increased demand.
