The Fayston Selectboard voted on Jan. 5 to accept Winterset's $2,100,000 bid to replace two bridges damaged in 2024 on Randell Road and Airport Road. The board received a recommendation from Tyler with East Engineering, which completed the design work and opened bids on Dec. 22, 2025.
East Engineering presented three bids: Neil H. Daniels at $3,114,500.00, ECI at $2,665,060.00, and Winterset at $2,100,000.00; Tyler recommended the lowest bidder. "Chuck made a motion to accept Winterset to complete the construction of the Randell Rd. & Airport Rd.," the minutes record; Mike Jordan seconded and the vote was unanimous.
The town currently rents temporary bridges from Winterset while permanent replacements proceed. The chair signed the engineering contract prepared by East Engineering and staff will forward documents so Winterset can complete its portion of the contract before work begins. The board did not record a construction start date in the meeting minutes.
