Selectboard reviews animal-control and health updates after two dog-bite reports

During the Sept. 9 meeting Health Officer Faye Cochran told the Selectboard two dog bites had been reported in recent weeks; both dogs were not registered and owners were advised to vaccinate and register the animals. The board recorded that it will follow up with the owners to ensure compliance.
The board also noted a concern that an earlier amendment to the town dog ordinance may not have been amended properly; members said they will look into the drafting and adoption history and correct it if necessary. In a separate animal-control item, Cochran reported a complaint about cats entering a neighbor's property and asked the owner to keep the animals from trespassing.
