Selectboard hears highway updates: Pike bid for North Road, Blakeville MRGP near completion

At the Sept. 9 meeting the board heard that Pike is the only firm to respond to a North Road paving bid (project on hold), Blakeville MRGP work is nearly finished pending seeding and mulching, and Griggs Road work will continue to meet grant timing.
Highway staff and a Pike representative updated the Selectboard on several road projects. Norm from Pike reviewed Pike's bid for paving North Road; town staff said only Pike responded to requests for quotes and that the project is on hold pending timing and budget, with potential work this coming spring.
Board members also heard that the Blakeville MRGP grant project is nearly complete except for seeding and mulching, which the crew expects to finish this week; Griggs Road work will continue to complete that grant by the end of September. Michie Corporation has begun engineering for Blakeville and the board noted grant work must be finished by Dec. 31.
