Lake Eden Association reports mixed results on milfoil treatment, seeks greeter program changes

Colleen Brennan, speaking for the Lake Eden Association, updated the Eden Selectboard on this year’s efforts to control aquatic invasive milfoil and to improve the lake greeter program. Brennan said the association used non‑herbicidal treatments this season alongside herbicide treatments in three distinct areas and that a visual inspection suggests the work is having an effect, but the association is still awaiting final inspection results.
Brennan handed out a project summary that lists near‑term priorities and operational changes the association hopes to implement to spread greeter responsibilities next season. The Selectboard approved two letters of support for Lake Eden grant applications later in the meeting; those letters were signed to support ongoing treatment and greeter staffing efforts.
