The solicitor explained the process for the kennel zoning amendment: add a definition in the ordinance's definitions section and consider a numeric threshold (number of animals) for what constitutes a kennel. He said the drafting and review process requires planning commission review, county planning review and a public hearing before any adoption, and estimated the timeline would "take at least into July" given meeting schedules. A resident, Ursula Updike, asked to be included in public comment when the draft is released.
