Sylvia Kerner, Register of Deeds, reported that in February the office recorded 266 documents, processed 46 vital-record applications and issued 192 certificates; approximately $7.4 million in property was conveyed through recorded straight sales.
Kerner told the committee the Real Property Lister is on maternity leave, the office's records are up to date, and the county website will be updated beginning in June. Committee members discussed whether to create an in-house GIS mapping specialist position who could also provide coverage for the RPL office; Price County currently outsources GIS mapping to a third-party vendor.
No formal staffing action was taken; the discussion identified a potential staffing change for future consideration and budget amendment review.
