The City of Crawford’s council reviewed the Public Library budget at a July 15 budget workshop and praised presenters Ashy Blacksheep and Lisa Stocker for an organized, thorough presentation. Council members said department-wide percentage reductions are under consideration to preserve funding for essential city services such as street and storm-sewer repairs.
Council discussion included an estimated possible reduction of $5,000 to the library’s proposed budget; the council did not adopt a final figure and left the matter for the final budget workshop later in the process. Interim City Clerk/Treasurer Jane Dailey was tasked with obtaining additional department-specific details from the city’s insurer, L.A.R.M., to inform final decisions. The workshop convened at 5:30 p.m. and adjourned at 7:12 p.m.
