Town Clerk (speaker) presented a proposed service agreement with GovPro Consulting to manage tasks for a potential ballot issue. The contract is a not-to-exceed $2,000 agreement (proposed rate $80/hour, roughly 25 hours). "It's $2,000 is max," the clerk said, adding that the consultant has been reliable in the past and legal fees for the election process will be additional.
Trustees discussed whether PERA retiree rules apply; staff said the town is not a PERA employer so PERA requirements would not apply to this contract. Trustee (speaker 2) moved to accept the contract and Trustee Walker seconded; the motion carried by voice vote. Trustees also clarified the contract covers a ballot question/special election and not an ordinary trustee election.
