Committee advances Judge Rudolph "Rick" Carnaroli nomination to Idaho Judicial Council

The Committee considered the Governor's appointment of Judge Rudolph "Rick" Carnaroli of Pocatello to the Idaho Judicial Council for a term beginning Jan. 7, 2026, and ending Jan. 7, 2032. Judge Carnaroli spoke about his 21 years on the bench and his interest in helping ensure the Governor appoints highly qualified judicial candidates.
"Every case mattered deeply to those involved," Judge Carnaroli told the Committee, emphasizing integrity, respect and mentorship during his remarks. Senator Ruchti moved to send the appointment to the Senate floor with a recommendation of confirmation; Senator Ricks seconded the motion and it carried by voice vote. The Committee passed the motion and the appointment will now be considered by the full Senate.
