Volunteer grant writer Maryann Lane told the committee she helped write the application and said the project will "improve the lives of the people who get water in that area because they some of them can't flush their toilets or run the sprinklers and the and shower at the same time." She described using an existing well and running new pipe into Riverside to connect customers to a culinary system; she emphasized the grant covers the pipeline hookup only, not conversion of the well house.
Committee members discussed supporting documentation and permitting. Staff suggested attaching the relevant excerpt of the county master water plan rather than the full 350-page document to clarify how the proposed pipeline fits existing planning. Lane said the county should know a decision in about six weeks.
A motion to approve the application was made and seconded (the transcript records the motion as from Commissioner Vincent with a second by Commissioner Bingham). The chair called for the vote; those present said "aye" and the chair declared the motion passed. The committee arranged to get signed documents to Lane and provide her a copy.
