Board approves CHKS student survey; superintendent says cost will come from DOJ grant

The Acton-Agua Dulce Unified School District Board on March 26 approved a memorandum of understanding to administer the California Healthy Kids Survey (CHKS).
Dr. Sahakian summarized the program and funding, saying, “The approximate cost is about 2,000, which will be paid out of 1 of our existing grants from Department of Justice.” The board approved the MOU by voice vote.
According to the superintendent, the CHKS (referred to in the meeting materials as the California School Climate Health and Learning Surveys) is conducted every other year to survey students, staff and parents on school climate, safety and learning. The district will pay the stated amount from available grant funds and return to the board with any further fiscal implications if needed.
