Jenica Stender, who presented the change, said the policy ties snow on-call pay to National Weather Service triggers that cause supervisors to declare an on-call window. "Basically, what happens is when the National Weather Service triggers an event that then triggers our supervisors to let them know... based on the weather event, you will be on call," Stender said. Commissioners discussed that if forecasts clearly indicate no snow, the on-call fee would not be paid.
Commissioner Perry moved to adopt the road department on-call policy as presented; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote.
