Public works reports sewer lining complete; meter installs and maintenance continue

Travis Irwin, Electric City Public Works Director, reported ongoing field work and infrastructure maintenance during the June 10 council meeting. Irwin said new meter installation is continuing and crews have been performing maintenance on bar ditches and highway shoulders; sewer cleaning and inspection occurred in known problem areas.
"The sewer lining project is complete and all looks well," Irwin said during the department reports. Public works also noted the wildland fire helicopter is back at Banks Lake Airport and reminded the public that a barn ban went into effect June 1; the fire department separately reported completing annual testing of hoses, pumps and hydrants.
