Board defers $20,000 portable HVAC replacement; approves maintenance contract

Given cooling weather and ongoing capital-planning discussions, she recommended holding off on the purchase until a broader capital improvements plan is established to ensure the expenditure is the best use of district funds.
The board agreed to defer replacement for now; Rowdy LaFevers asked about alternative options and Cynthia Dominik Medlin asked whether the district had checked with the PUD for possible rebates, which Katie said she would investigate. Separately, Hunter Davisson, Inc. presented an updated preventative maintenance agreement for 2025–26; the total cost rose significantly (about double last year) after adding prevailing wages and portable-classroom units, but remained lower than other quotes. Rowdy moved to approve that proposal and the board approved it unanimously.
