Board Chair Donald Collins presented the budget status, reporting the General Fund was budgeted at $262,578 and currently stands at $426,732.54. He also reported ending fund balances: Capital Projects $5,806.37; ASB $3,574.96; Transportation $138,893.64, and characterized the district’s finances as in good standing compared with other districts.
Superintendent Katie Chavarria reported school will begin next week with enrollment at 117 students and said the district is fully staffed except for a counselor supported through ESD 112. She outlined the levy timeline, a community event planned for October to thank supporters, the Back-to-School BBQ on Aug. 29 and a new monthly "Coffee Corner" beginning the second Friday of each month. Katie also noted that Senate Bill 5009, which allows districts to purchase vans using transportation funds, has passed but implementation guidelines have not yet been released.
