Bank of New Hampshire Wealth Management representatives Stephen Smith and Frank Anderson reviewed the library endowment's recent performance and outlined a market outlook for 2026 during the Jan. 22 meeting of the Laconia Public Library Board of Trustees. The presentation included proposed edits to the Library's Investment Policy Statement (IPS) but drew no immediate vote.
After the presentation trustees discussed the proposed IPS revisions and reached a consensus to postpone action until other trustees could be present. The minutes state that the board "will wait to act until the other trustees are in attendance." The delay leaves the current IPS unchanged while trustees review the recommended adjustments and consider input from the finance presentation.
Why it matters: the IPS guides how the library's endowment is managed, including asset allocation and risk tolerances that affect long-term support for library programs. The board did not set a date to resume consideration; further review will occur when the full complement of trustees is available.
