Commissioners propose short 'evergreen' videos to clarify code-enforcement and storm-prep guidance

One commissioner proposed a series of five or six one-minute videos explaining step-by-step actions: how to respond to a code-enforcement notice, how to prepare for a magistrate hearing, and how to prepare yards and storm drains before inclement weather.
"I'd love to see, like, 5 or 6 little 1 minute videos," the official said, framing them as evergreen content that would reduce confusion and repetitive calls to staff. Staff noted that some materials already exist online but acknowledged that many residents who need the guidance do not find it. Commissioners asked staff to expand outreach and ensure ADA and accessibility compliance for any new video content.
No funding decision was made; staff agreed to consider producing short guidance pieces and to discuss implementation and accessibility requirements.
