The CEO presented an operational update emphasizing a July 1 launch of a 90-day work-culture and leadership accountability reset that concluded with a town hall. The CEO said the hospital will begin a human-resources restructure effective Aug. 1, roll out employee, physician and patient-safety culture surveys in September, and bring survey results back to the board. "We were able to provide the 5% COLA increase to our employees, and the 2% onetime recognition will be paid out to the employees on tomorrow," the CEO said.
The CEO said the organization outsourced the quality department earlier in May and will bring the interim senior director-of-quality contract to the board at the next meeting because it likely exceeds the $100,000 threshold. The CEO also said the general-counsel position should be filled in the coming weeks and the search for a chief nursing officer will launch next week.
