Council approved a purchase of new golf-simulator equipment for Taylor Meadows Golf Club from Carl's Place not to exceed $52,610, funded through the golf course capital outlay account. The equipment list includes four enclosures, four projectors, four hitting mats and framing kits; council added the item to the agenda and approved it after a short presentation.
The presenter said the golf-simulator program brings significant revenue to the course and surrounding services, estimating simulator revenue around $90,000–$100,000 a year and an additional $20,000–$25,000 in food and beverage sales. “We do about a $125,000 a year in our simulator business between food and beverage and all golf sales,” the presenter said. Council members asked about lifespan, payback and disposition of old equipment; staff said they would likely sell the used gear and that the simulators operate seasonally through March.
The motion to approve the contract carried on a voice vote.
