Hampton introduces new assistant city manager Quasi Obang

Hampton introduced Quasi Obang as its new assistant city manager and gave him the floor to outline his background.
"I did my undergrad at Vanderbilt and got my doctorate from Clark Atlanta University in political science," Obang said. He described earlier work in child protective services, performance audits for the city of Atlanta and the inspector general's office in Chicago, and time as chief of staff to a common council in Madison, Wisconsin, before serving in DeKalb County.
Council members and staff welcomed Obang and said he has already begun work in the public safety and human services cluster. The introduction was presented as part of the regular open session; no personnel action was required from council during the meeting.
