Applicant Antonye Addison told council she began working with staff in March 2023 and said she had been trying to make required changes but only recently was advised the driveway/parking was a disqualifying concern. “I feel like respectfully I should’ve had the opportunity to make those changes so that I can be in compliance,” Addison said. Council and staff explained that the city paused approvals to craft separation and density caps (initially 500 feet considered, then set at 300 feet) and that some STRs were grandfathered because they had prior zoning and business licenses. A councilmember moved to deny the application and the motion carried unanimously; the clerk announced the item denied.
