Council approves parks and golf-course purchases, including a golf-ball dispenser and Lane Park electrical work

Council approved a set of parks and recreation and related technology purchases at the Dec. 16 meeting. The council approved a purchase agreement with Bell and Son for restaurant equipment (not to exceed $8,000) and approved Wigtec (golf supplies) for a golf-ball dispenser and cleaning system with point-of-sale capability for the Lakes of Taylor not to exceed $21,007, funded from golf course capital outlay.
Staff explained the golf-ball system will allow sales at the driving range and provide simple reporting and membership automation. As staff put it: “It will all also allow us to, see some high level reporting about, how many golf balls we're selling time of day, who we're selling them to, and, put in a system for memberships and be able to sell packages of golf balls.”
The council also approved Fairfax Electric as the low bidder for electrical services at Lane Park (amount not to exceed $40,000) funded through an ARPA capital outlay grant; staff provided a construction update saying fence, drainage and play structures are in place and that finishing work will continue into spring. Finally, the council approved a blanket purchase agreement for Onyx Networking to provide GCP cloud coverage for IT needs under the building/water/sewer budgets.
