The City Council approved motion 6.2 to appoint Eric Chopjian to the Tax Increment Finance Authority for a four-year term ending 10/07/2029.
"Item 6.2 is a motion to approve the new appointment to Eric Chopjian to the tax increment finance authority for a 4 year term to expire on 10/07/2029," the mayor said, explaining the nominee's business background and that different criteria (including business presence in a district) are considered for TIFA membership. Council voted to approve the appointment.
Council members asked whether nominees need to live within the district or represent businesses there; staff said different criteria apply, and that business ownership in the district is commonly one of them. The motion passed with no further recorded dissent.
